FC 27 Sept 25: The Grounds, $2.5M FC Pro Pool
EA SPORTS has confirmed the launch window for EA SPORTS FC 27: worldwide release on 25 September 2026 across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC, with Ultimate and Ultimate Plus Edition buyers getting up to seven days of early access from 18 September, EA Play members receiving a 10-hour trial and a free-to-download EA FC 27 Lite tier also dropping on 25 September. The headline new feature is The Grounds, a social football environment built around a central Terrace that connects three districts — Montclair, Zeiza and Parkside.
The Grounds houses Clubs and Club Headquarters, plus Rush, Kickabouts, 1v1 matches and informal 11v11 matches. EA is clear that The Grounds and the integrated Clubs experience are exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2; PS4, Xbox One and original Nintendo Switch Clubs players will keep the older Clubs experience and miss The Grounds entirely.
On the pitch, FC 27 ships with Authentic Gameplay 2.0, Off-Balance Dribbling (next-gen and PC only), improved attacking awareness, dynamic corner kicks, more manual defending and passing adjustments. Career Mode gets a rebuilt transfer market with active AI bids, performance clauses and dynamic OVR.
Football Ultimate Team adds the FUT Gallery for tracking items, holographic Player Items, streamlined SBCs and Evolution Pathways. PC players get Steam Friends integration through EA Connect, a VRAM indicator in the graphics menu, a faster Steam startup flow and Enhanced Ultra visuals for high-end GPUs.
On the competitive side, EA SPORTS FC Pro has confirmed the FC Pro Open Ladder begins on 21 September in the Ultimate Team mode, four days before the full game release, with the ladder running until 3 October. The full FC Pro season carries a combined $2.5 million prize pool across all official competitions, with $1 million for the FC Pro World Championship and $250,000 awarded to the new world champion.
FC 27 ships with more than 21,000 players, 800-plus clubs and national teams, more than 140 stadiums and 35-plus leagues, backed by 300-plus global football partners. EA Play trial, Ultimate Edition early access and the EA FC 27 Lite tier all open on 18 September and 25 September respectively; Pro Clubs squads should finalise their platform choice this week because last-gen consoles do not get The Grounds or the new Clubs integration.
