FC 27 Gameplay Deep Dive: Major Overhaul

🏟️ EA SPORTS FC 27 Gameplay Deep Dive — The Biggest Overhaul in Years EA Sports has officially revealed the FC 27 Gameplay Deep Dive, and it's a fundamental shift in how the game plays. Principal Gameplay Designer Gilliard Lopes outlined changes driven directly by community feedback: less automation, more manual control.

🔑 Key Changes: • AI Defending Reduced — AI defenders will no longer auto-tackle nearby dribblers. Defending is now a deliberate, player-controlled action.

Manual defenders get increased jockey speed and extended stand tackle range. • Teammate Contain Adjusted — AI teammates mark from greater distance, requiring you to switch and press manually.

• Corner Kicks Reworked — After targeting your delivery zone, the camera shifts to the box for a pre-delivery window. New Avoidance mechanic (hold R1/RB) lets attackers dodge defenders.

Shielding holds position. Manual positioning replaces auto-placement.

• Crossing Overhaul — Crosses are less assisted. Your aim and power determine where the ball lands — it can miss everyone if imprecise.

Clean headers are harder but more accurate when connected. • New Creative Runs — Triggered Curved Runs (L1+R1 / LB+RB) bend runs into space.

Pass & Follow Runs (L1+R1+X / LB+RB+A) send the passer on a curved follow. Runs now have limited distance — re-trigger to continue.

• Passing Made Manual — Ground and lobbed through passes no longer auto-steer to open lanes. Dinked passes are now fully manual, raising the skill ceiling.

• Off-Balance Dribbling — Players with high Balance, Agility, and Dribbling can recover footing while running off-balance, rewarding top dribblers. • PlayStyle Rebalancing — Incisive Pass, Jockey, Precision Header, and Low Driven PlayStyles adjusted to narrow the gap between base attributes and PlayStyle boosts.
