FC 27 The Grounds Developer Launch Update

EA SPORTS published the first EA SPORTS FC 27 The Grounds Developer Launch Update on 2 October 2026. The post draws on early post-launch data from The Grounds and outlines what is changing for Clubs and Kickabouts.

The big Clubs news is that long-term fatigue has been reintroduced in Title Update v1.0.1. EA acknowledged that infinite stamina at launch could disproportionately benefit Clubs with more players compared with smaller Clubs, and says it will keep watching match data after the change.

On the Kickabout side, EA confirmed that 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and In-World Rush are pulling most of the population, making it harder to find enough players for Kickabouts. Approaches under exploration include a signal so players can flag a gameplay site that needs more bodies, ways to connect players across servers while keeping them in the world experience, and scheduled Kickabout-focused events.

EA also confirmed it has begun exploring designs for Winner Stays and Win Streaks support in The Grounds, inspired by players and streamers who already track their own streaks.

Menu performance inside The Grounds is being actively tracked. Fixes already deployed cover 5-star skill moves not working in small-sided matches and high ping in some cross-region Clubs matches. Items still under investigation or in test include incorrect Archetype Point costs, erratic 1v1 goalkeeper behaviour, Stadium and Clubhouse portal teleports, the 11v11 drop-in preferred-position bug, the world map not opening while queued, and the map input wrongly opening the Season Pass.

EA closes by saying The Grounds is only at the start of its roadmap, with more improvements planned as more players spend time in the mode.
