FC 27 Balance Changes Confirmed for November

EA SPORTS has published its October Gameplay Developer Notes for EA SPORTS FC 27, confirming that the first set of gameplay balance changes since launch will arrive in Title Update v1.2.0 in mid-November. After deliberately leaving the launch build untouched for a full month, the team says a month of live match data, community feedback and Design Council testing is now stable enough to support targeted tuning.
Title Update v1.2.0 focuses on five areas. Fullbacks will hold their defensive line more consistently and only track runs when there is a genuine attacking threat.
Attackers get better awareness of the defensive line so they stay onside more often, and attacking AI will make more purposeful supporting runs around the box. The defensive line will sit higher after kick-off, making it harder for opponents to progress straight at goal.
Auto player switching will also pick the player closest to the ball more reliably after slide tackles, headed passes and shots that miss the target. EA also confirmed it is still investigating high defensive lines applying too much pressure, how collisions between players of different sizes and physical attributes are handled, and the accuracy of specific shot types against goalkeeper positioning.
The team cautions that each change is subtle and targeted, and that a single adjustment may not work equally well in every Rivals Division or mode. The gameplay development team will host a live Discord Q&A on October 30 at 4:30PM GMT (9:30AM PT) to take player questions directly, and feedback is still being collected through the Feedback Portal, the EA Forums and the official Discord server.
